MUSIC CAREER
THE THEATRICAL LIFE OF JUSTINE LUCAS
Justine Lucas attained her BFA degree with a minor in World Music & Dance from SF State University in 2011. From 2012-2015 she recorded 3 solo albums and 5 collaborative albums, one of which ("Make Me Mad" with co-composer Jonah-Udall) features several Big Band players from George Benson's studio band. From 2014-2018 she "ran away with the circus" and traveled throughout the United States and Canada with Cavalia, Cirque du Soleil, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Baily, studying the art of live performance and theatrical production. Throughout her music career, she has played several renowned venues around the SF Bay Area including Yoshi's, Slim's, The Haight-Ashbury Music Festival, Herbst Theatre, the Swedish American Hall, and The Great American Music Hall.
From 2018-2020 she taught private music lessons (in guitar, voice, piano, and ukulele) at Mountain Music School in Santa Cruz. She also founded a music teacher's collective called Redwood Music Academy, connecting students with music teachers around the Bay Area. In recent years, Justine has been immersing herself in holistic health; discovering the healing properties of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Justine's Somatic Singing Program and Meditative Vocal lessons are a culmination of all of these experiences ~ singing, performing, teaching, healing, listening, meditating, and expressing.
